The Tiree Flag, or Sun of Barley, is a community flag proclaiming the unique identity of this Hebridean island. The Tiree flag features twelves ears of barley arranged in a sunburst pattern. The ears represent the richness of the island – the most fertile in the Hebrides – known for centuries as Tìr an Eòrna, ‘the land of barley’.
