Since first years in the MHA universe and Japan in general are around the age of 15 and 16, maybe Touya was training to get into U.A. and prove to his father he was still useful and could still serve a purpose when the fire at Endeavor's training facility happened.

Natsuo didn't gaslight Endeavor into believing he's responsible for Toya's presumed suicide. They both came to that conclusion because they both know it's true. The whole thematic of the manga is about heroism and saving, so saving seemingly unreedemable people that look like they don't want it but that also victims seems like a fitting ending for me.

2020年11月30日 · I like this. In regards to the kanji in Touya's name, when I think of lamp, I also think of lights. Coupled with Todoroki meaning "roaring" or in your post "known to the world", Touya could represent a bright "roaring" light that shines in the world.
