Trailing Arm Design Guidance | race-deZert
2024年10月31日 · I am currently designing rear suspension for an SAE Baja Car. Reading this forum, I've come across some awesome information, and I just want some design guidance. Specifically, how to minimize plunge. Any information will be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
Trailing Arms design & target Anti-Squat - race-deZert
2005年1月27日 · The trailing arms have to be stronger/beefed up over a simple tube link because of the coil-overs, which are mounted to the trailing arm to maximize wheel travel for a given length of shock. ... so how about the squat/anti-squat?
Semi-Trailing arm Geometry - race-deZert
2010年5月29日 · I am currently tackling the rear IRS trailing arm design for my buggy & I am trying to figure out what are the factors involved in trailing arm suspension design. At what angle (to the chassis) do you setup your trailing arms ? how does caster angle affects the handling of the car ( stability...
Solid-Axle Radius-Arm Design - race-deZert
2014年1月31日 · A trailing arm and a radius arm are controlling the axle location and (in your case) the radius arm and the trailing arm both have a shock mounted to them. I have seen mention of the pro's & con's of the lower shock eye mount being above or below the centerline of the trailing arm (radius arm).
I need to Check my A-Arm suspension geometry to desert race!
2013年7月4日 · For semi-trailing arm I used 8* for torsion housing and now I need to know if to use 1/8" toe in and -2 camber at right height. And my last question is: can I use u joint instead of cv joint? I have a 6 ribs transmission and cv joint type 2 …
Angled trailing arm pivots - race-deZert
2020年3月29日 · Planning a rear suspension build and have pretty much decided to go with trailing arms instead of semi-trailing arms. However, I see some trailing arm setups with pivots that aren't parallel to the centerline of the car (see attached pic) and I like the idea of this because it does give me a bit of camber change.
IRS A Arm V's Trailing Arm - race-deZert
2012年2月20日 · Looking for opinions on A Arm rear suspension V's Trailing Arm. Trailing Arm seams to be more simple, and strength to overall weight maybe slightly better. The down side is the CV Plunge may limit CV angle therefore limit wheel travel. (Correct me if I am way off) A Arm slightly heaver than Trailing Arm for the strength required.
Preventing/minimizing axle shaft plunge with VW-style trailing …
2011年12月15日 · When you are designing/fabricating VW-style trailing arms how do you minimize/prevent axle shaft plunge? I ask because when I did the SAE Baja Challenge we fabricated some tubular VW-style trailing arms for our buggy and we had a lot of axle shaft plunge (a LOT). . .but I didn't know enough...
Polaris RZR XP900 vs. Arctic Cat Wildcat by Jon Crowley & Joey ...
2011年11月26日 · The Wildcat and RZR XP900 both feature rear trailing arm suspension. Arctic Cat has opted for a 5-link and Polaris for a 3-link. The Wildcat has 2 inch adjustable Walker Evans Racing shocks with piggyback reservoirs. The RZR XP900 has 2 inch adjustable Fox Racing Shox with piggyback reservoirs. Both of these suspension types have a long history in off-road …
Anti-squat with semi-trailing arm rear suspension??? - race-deZert
2013年9月8日 · How do you determine or adjust anti-squat with a semi-trailing arm rear suspension??? None of the suspension books I have address this. . .only seem to address A-arm and 4-link rear suspension. Thanks!
