2021年10月25日 · Checked the transmission fluid level "cold turkey" in the 2016 DGC last week and it was at 95mm even though the ambient temperature was a little colder than previous checks. That is a very reliable way to know if the transmission has too much or too little fluid. I do have an IR thermometer but not needed for this quick, and very simple, check.

2013年12月16日 · H- Compared the reading to CRY933 chart, page 3, and to my coat hanger dipstick, then adjusted the fluid level in the transmission. I- I ended up taking out 16 ounces. After doing that, the famous 1-2,2-3 shifting problem become less noticeable, maybe it is illusion, but I am happy with the results.

If there is a method to check fluid level very rarely will I measure what is removed, to me it doesn’t matter. I have also found that my transmission’s operating temp is 150* to 160*. I use a Scan Gauge 3 to monitor my vans vitals but mainly to get the transmission fluid temperature.
