The Rolls-Royce Trent 700 is a high-bypass turbofan aircraft engine produced by Rolls-Royce plc to power the Airbus A330. Rolls-Royce was studying a RB211 development for the A330 at its launch in June 1987.

First run in August 1990 as the model Trent 700, the Trent has achieved significant commercial success, having been selected as the launch engine for all three of the 787 variants (Trent 1000), the A380 (Trent 900) and the A350 (Trent XWB).

The Trent 700 was the first Trent model developed, and it followed the RB211-524G/H that powered the 747-400 and 767-300ER. This was rated at 58,000-60,600lbs thrust, had a 86.3-inch diameter fan, and a bypass ratio of between 4.1 and 4.3:1.
