My large Gigas live for over 1 year with the disease until I cure him with FWD; Clam mantle retraction spreads slowly from one area to adjacent area, rarely skipped area of mantles.

2022年7月20日 · Tridacna are pretty much fully photosynthetic for their life I dont see a colored mantel. I could very well be wrong the shell shape does look along the same lines. This is mostly my opinion using an "educated guess".

2022年1月2日 · These measurements were made in tanks from Baltimore to Seattle. Instrument was a Li-Cor quantum meter with submersible probe, calibrated for underwater readings. The question that arose in another thread was now to 'balance' light intensities to satisfy both Tridacna and Acropora. PPFD of 300 should be that balance.

2009年5月8日 · It is my personal opinion that if you intend to keep a Tridacna Derasa you should have an aquarium of 75 gallons or larger. They can be kept in smaller tanks but they rapidly outgrow them. Reply

I currently have three 125 gallon tanks set up that will be upgraded to a 500 and then eventually a 1000 gallon tank. I really think a 2+ foot clam would be the best for my tank and I am willing to go to the effort to purchase and take care of it.
