Redlichia takooensis appears most closely related to certain species of similar age, such as Redlichia noetlingi (Redlich, 1899) and Redlichia mansuyi Resser & Endo, 1937. According to the global chronostratigraphic criteria, Redlichia noetlingi ranges from the late Early Cambrian to the lowermost Middle Cambrian, which is comparable with the Cambrian Series 2 (stage 4). The first sample of Redlichia noetlingi occurs 72 m from the base of Godbondar section and 120 m from the base of Kuhbanan section.
