I Created My First Tonex Tone Models - The Gear Page
2023年4月3日 · Using my Helix as an audio interface, I created my first tone models and uploaded them to ToneNet. The process went smoothly following the step-by-step instructions provided. I used the default machine learning setting for my clean and drive tones which took about 20 minutes on a iMac with a...
Preamp Tubes with triodes that have different gain factors?
2021年5月13日 · I am looking to compile a list of tubes with different triode gain factors because I would like to experiment a bit and really tweak some of my amps preamp stages. Not sure how popular this concept was in vacuum tube production but I do know a few of these oddballs exist like the 12DW7 and also...
Scratchy/bump in tail end of tone-pot's throw | The Gear Page
2013年4月9日 · At about 7:30 or so it makes sort of a scratchy "bump" noise. It's not loud, it's relatively subtle but not hard to hear. The circuit is simple. Signal comes off the plate on the first triode and goes through terminal 1 and on its way thru a .02 coupling cap and 470K resistor on its way to the grounded volume pot.
New Sensor Mullard 12ax7s: flat sounding? - The Gear Page
2017年12月11日 · Mullard 12AX7 / ECC83 Reissue - This is a nice tube but in my opinion better suited to home audio than guitar amps. The tubes have well balanced triode pairs and a very even flat response. Compared to a Tung Sol it sounds a bit flat, but so does a NOS Mullard. Microphonics is not an issue despite the larger that average plate structure. The transconductance on my sample was the same as two NOS ...
Tube amp "feel" from modeler, question - The Gear Page
2019年9月25日 · In triode mode, there is more sag because the plate voltage has more of an effect on plate current in a triode. The supply sag created by the power transformer resistance lowers not only the plate voltage, but the screen voltage as well, since the screen is nearly always a filtered version of the supply going to the plate.
Channel jumping on Twin Reverb? - The Gear Page
2017年5月18日 · The channels are out of phase because the extra triode in the reverb channel (slight gain stage) inverts the signal. I believe there's ABY pedals that invert the signal but I'm not sure that's going to solve the problem.
Helix 3.7 - question about Brit 2203 model. - The Gear Page
2023年11月18日 · The model sounds great, but switching to the ‘low’ input kills the input almost completely. Is this normal behaviour?
VOX MVX150 - Flagship Nutube Guitar Amp - The Gear Page
2018年1月18日 · Like a conventional vacuum tube, a Nutube has an anode grid filament structure, and operates as a complete triode tube. It provides the same rich overtones and response that are distinctive of conventional vacuum tubes.
Marshall JCM 800 v.s JCM 900 v.s Jubilee 2555x - The Gear Page
2017年11月6日 · It's a simple Triode/Pentode switch, if you want to read more about it. Silver Jubilee tones remind me of Black Crowes and John Frusciante. 800s remind me of 80s rock.
