Class T was a registered trademark for a switching (class-D) audio amplifier, used for Tripath's amplifier technologies (patent filed on Jun 20, 1996). Similar designs have now been widely adopted by different manufacturers.

Does anyone have any experience with variety of Tripath chips/modules? I only know the sound of TA2022, TA2024. I own both. What about the TA0105A (I think Audio Research 150.2 used these and Bel Canto Evo 200.2?) or TK2050, TA3020? Or TDA2500. I read someone here saying these are the best of Tripath.

2013年8月17日 · In fact, some of the newer amps that claim to use Tripath chips actually use clones since Tripath production ended years ago. Some of the cloned chips are actually fine, so be careful in what you buy. If you want really high end Tripath amplification, then research older Bel Canto and Audio Research Class D amps.

2009年10月22日 · I came across this, and while not a true "Tripath" chip, appears to be similar enough (?) being based on the Yamaha class D chip, to mention as a candidate for the successor to the original T-Amp in terms of bang-per-buck. For 50 bucks, if this review is accurate, looks like a cheap way to check-out the low end of the tripath "sound"?
