I find it notable that compared to other GenKillers, who are divorced and/struggling with drug and alcohol addiction and PTSD, Trombley has gone and done extremely well for himself.

2021年4月29日 · Trombley is the youngest member of an elite unit, 19 I think. He's desperate to fit in and feel like he belongs. He's seen these guys joke around about this stuff pre-invasion and thinks this is how he will be accepted. The BK thing is actually a step towards acceptance.

How the hell did Captain America make it into First Recon and
Trombley was done dirty, as far as I can tell. He was never interviewed for the book and had no involvement in the series. Each action he was portrayed as doing was accurate (though some of the details got blurred translating it into film) but the tone of it, the editor's and writer's choices made him out to be a nihilistic, grinning abomination.

The final people to leave the room are Ray and Trombley. This is perfect, as Ray looks back at the war, but seems disengaged with it and leaves after Trombley's reaction. Trombley loves it, until the dead civilian comes up. Then he leaves. I also love the final camera movement following him as he walks out.

Yeah, James should have more situational fuckin awareness than to shoot a couple of shepherds, but shit rolls up hill in the Corps for stuff like that.
