Measure the brackets that should be in the top of the firebox and get an iron works to bend up one in 1/4" or 3/8" mild plate steel. Would be good if somebody would pass through here that still has one and could measure it for you.

It was used regularly until 2008 when my father passed on. Since then, it has been brought to our attention that the installation of the stove is not up to the current code that is required.
