2015年2月6日 · Turface (Schultz aquatic pond soil at HomeDepot) + cactus mix (from HomeDepot) is a quick and safe mix to use, especially in large quantity. Everybody has a HomeDepot in their city by now. Basically, turface is a cheap filler for you soil mix, but if you could find pumice then use pumice instead.

2020年2月16日 · I prefer turface to Montmorillonite clay because monmorillonite although larger in comparison to turface, is usually uniform flat particles. When people don't sift turface to get rid of particles under 1/8th inch , they keep all the sizes ranging from dust to below 1/8 inch (this unfortunately happens to be a huge portion of the bag).

I would rather pay the extra for healthy plants. The root mass show negative root development in turface medium. Tree has weakened substantially.

The cost difference is insignificant for stuff so cheap, but it was a bit more difficult for me to find Turface, and I had to sweet talk the lady at the landscape distributor to sell it to me because I don't own a landscaping business.

For instance, he uses about 70% turface, 20% granite grit (same size as turface) and the remainder fine bark or peat chunks. 2013年1月25日 · "Special Kitty" falls apart when wet, and I've never seen conclusive evidence that any kind of useful cat litter is available in the U.S. (Europe is a different story). The NAPA oil dry is the closest I've found to turface - it is not quite as hard so it may not hold up as long to freeze/thaw cycles.
