Twitter and Vine powered an incredible night at The #BRITs 2016. From the red carpet to their dressing rooms and the stage, artists Tweeted their excitement from the event, together with the fans at home fuelling 7.5 million Tweets.

10 million Tweets and more than 2 million images, GIFs, videos, and Periscope broadcasts, including the earliest on-Twitter activity from accounts connected with these campaigns, dating back to 2009. Twitter believes that independent analysis of this activity by researchers is a key step toward promoting shared understanding of these threats.

As the #Glasgow2014 Commonwealth Games begin, interest among UK Twitter users is high, and builds on the excitement garnered by the London 2012 Olympic Games. Last night’s opening ceremony at Celtic Park saw more than 570,000 Tweets sent, with athletes, public figures and other personalities joining the live conversation on Twitter.
