Typhon, also known as Chupon, is a character in Final Fantasy VI. He is Ultros 's partner, and though he is unintelligible and unintelligent, possesses terrific power. Typhon flies Ultros to the Blackjack when the party engages the Imperial Air Force over the Floating Continent.

Typhon is a boss in the Dawn of Souls and many succeeding versions of the original Final Fantasy, bar the Android version or Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster. He is found on Floor B10 of the Whisperwind Cove, and must be fought to continue through the dungeon.

Typhon is a reoccurring character from Final Fantasy, making his first appearance in Final Fantasy VI. In that game, he serves as the master of Ultros and backs him during the the Floating Continent section. After the cataclysm, Ultros is hired as a receptionist at Dragon's Neck Coliseum, and Typhon fights in the arena on his behalf to help him.
