With the engine light on, the glow plug light would not come on at all after it set the code. There were other codes for the glow plug circuits, but I only concentrated on the main code (U0106 -lost communication with glow plug control module).

Feb 22, 2024 · I got this code U0106 after replacing the factory GPCM with a Dorman (I got a consistent P0670.) I swapped in a Dormam After some experimenting I determined that the Dorman is more susceptible to low battery voltage than the factory module (which is a Beru made in Germany.) The glow plug lamp on the dash would come on and never go off.
