WWVU-FM first went on the airwaves in 1982 when it opened its studios at the Mountainlair. Known as "The Moose," U92 is a hands-on training ground for students interested in programming music, producing digital content in state-of-the-art studios, providing live Mountaineer sports coverage, or reporting on local and state news.

2024年9月25日 · Founded in 1982, U92 FM is the student-run college radio station of West Virginia University. The station broadcasts on 91.7 on the FM dial and is affectionately referred to as "The Moose." U92 is independent of the WVU Reed College of Media and hires students from all majors at the university, but many Media students find a home there.

Since 1982, “U92 the Moose” is WVU's college radio station and the source of new music in West Virginia. We pride ourselves on taking risks, breaking ground, and learning through hands-on education. Listen in for music, news, sports talk, and live coverage of select WVU sports.
