Home - Boole Collection - UCC Library at University College Cork

The Boole Collection was formed in the wake of the Year of Boole Celebrations (2014-2015) commemorating the 200th anniversary of George Boole's birth and 150th anniversary of his death. The collection was initially formed by selecting Boole-related items from general collections.

There are 14 Group Study Rooms and the Study Pod in Boole Library for use by registered UCC students only. They are for group study purposes only. e.g. project work and presentation practice. The rooms may not be used for tutorials, grinds or events.

Professor George Boole - University College Cork
George Boole worked in the fields of differential equations and algebraic logic, and is best known as the author of An investigation of the laws of thought (1854) which contains Boolean algebra. Boolean logic is credited with laying the foundations for the information age.
