Undergraduate Programmes | Faculty of Health Sciences
All these undergraduate programmes have fixed curricula. The degree programmes include extensive training at hospitals and clinics in and around Cape Town and in other relevant community settings, which may include schools and informal settlements. The MBChB programme takes six years to complete.

Approximately 12.5% of in-hospital patients across the continent are critically ill. UCT researchers' global impact has been recognised in Clarivate’s 2024 Highly Cited Researchers list.
