Cisco AnyConnect VPN provides active staff, faculty, and students split-tunnel access to the UConn network. University members can download and install the VPN on their computers. If you are on a UConn-owned computer, you may already have the VPN installed.

ITS supports the Cisco AnyConnect VPN service that provides secure, encrypted connection when you are accessing restricted systems on the University network from off-campus locations. While most University resources do not require a VPN (e.g., email, Core-CT, OneDrive), certain protected resources require a secure connection to UConn for access.

2022年2月21日 · Virtual Private Networking (VPN) software creates a secure, encrypted connection between your off-campus computing device (laptop, phone, or tablet) and the campus network. Members of UConn can use the AnyConnect VPN if they are off-campus and need secure access to university-hosted resources.

The upgraded and expanded Virtual Private Network (VPN) services, deployed on September 15th, have replaced the old VPN portal. On October 6th the old system, vpn.uconn.edu, will no longer be available. The new VPN portal is accessible via the Web at https://sslvpn.uconn.edu and via client software for OS X, Windows, iOS, and Android devices.

The Cisco AnyConnect Client is a software application for connecting to virtual private networks and provides anyone with a current Active Directory account Split-Tunnel access to the UConn network.

As an alternative to downloading and installing applications directly onto your computer, you can access university-licensed software on your devices through UConn AnyWare. AnyWare is a virtual desktop service that you can use from any device with a network connection. Within AnyWare, you can access your printers and storage devices.

ITS provides multiple ways by which users can access UConn resources while off-campus. Most resources are accessible off-campus via the Cisco AnyConnect VPN. The VPN should be used in favor of Remote Desktop unless necessary.

2022年9月22日 · ITS has been in the process of transitioning our VPN service from our legacy Pulse Secure to our new Cisco AnyConnect. We elected to move to industry-leading AnyConnect because its infrastructure would better scale to meet the University’s growing needs.

2021年10月26日 · AnyConnect is an industry leading and widely used VPN service that ITS selected to replace our legacy Pulse Secure VPN service. It provides an improved experience for remote connectivity by delivering higher capacities and overall throughput. We have implemented the new service with split tunneling enabled.
