UGC 7321 - observing.skyhound.com
UGC 7321 is an example of a superthin galaxy. These are low surface brightness spiral galaxies seen nearly edge-on. They are gas rich with very flattened stellar disks. Little or no nuclear bulge is seen. These features give such galaxies a unique appearance in …
Dark Matter Halo Properties as Deduced from the Observed H I …
For UGC 07321, our best-fit halo core radius is only slightly larger than the stellar disc scale length, indicating that the halo is important even at small radii in this LSB galaxy. The high value of the gas velocity dispersion required to match the scale height data can explain the low star-formation rate of this galaxy.
The Edge-On Perspective of Bulgeless, Simple Disk Galaxies
2009年11月24日 · The global star-formation rates of the prototypical superthins are: UGC 07321, SFR IRAS ∼ 0.006 M⊙ yr -1 (Matthews & Wood 2003; Uson & Matthews 2003 ); and IC 2233, SFR IRAS ∼ 0.02 M⊙ yr -1 (Matthews & Uson 2008a ). These estimates are at the low end of observed star-formation rates for Sd spirals (Kewley et al. 2002 ).
We model the shape and density profile of the dark matter halo of the low surface brightness, superthin galaxy UGC 7321, using the observed rotation curve and the
High‐Latitude H i in the Low Surface Brightness Galaxy UGC 7321
2008年12月19日 · Three-dimensional modeling suggests that the H I disk of UGC 7321 is both warped and flared, but that neither effect can fully reproduce the spatial distribution and kinematics of the highest...
Results for global modes for UGC 7321 | Download Table
First, we study a superthin, LSB galaxy UGC 7321 and show that it does not support discrete global spiral modes when modelled as a disc-alone system or as a disc plus dark matter system.

The astronomical object called UGC 7321 is a Emission-line galaxy
The majority of the distances lie between 0.5 Mpc and 11 Mpc, with outliers being the Magellanic Clouds (50– 60 kpc), UGC 06782 (14 Mpc), IC 2049 (17 Mpc), and UGC 07321(20 Mpc).
Flaring stellar disk in the low surface brightness galaxy UGC 7321
2019年3月8日 · We theoretically study the vertical structure of the edge-on low surface brightness (LSB) galaxy UGC 7321. This is one of the few well-observed LSBs.
