2022年4月3日 · The Warthog Is well armored enough to withstand a hit from a main battle tank in the areas where it is armored, and UNSC infantry are pretty well armored against small arms anyway. The Warthog simply uses an all or nothing armor layout.

The UNSC never lost a theater because of the ground conflict. It simply doesn't matter how hard the UNSC wins on the ground. The UNSC could stomp the covenant into the dirt on the ground and never lose a single marine doing so, and nothing changes because the covenant win in space and glass whatever forces are on the ground.

There was a drone in Halo: Smoke & Shadow. Contact Harvest had ARGUS drones. A drone strike was used in Spartan Ops episode 4. A spy drone appeared in Halo: Escalation. Sniper units in Halo Wars 2 use drone assistants. I certainly wouldn't mind seeing more of them. Using them in some manner in the campaign, as you suggest, could be fun as well.

Most UNSC craft can be remote piloted by AI, and the Air Force employs swarms of F-99 drone fighters. There are also multiple small drones employed by the UNSC, such as the MQ-96, the MAKO, and TQ-8 Seeker Drones.

2013年4月1日 · The Covenant demonstrated rapid and very successful attempts at cracking computer networks of UNSC fleets. That's why the Cole Protocol was enacted to insure no navigational data leading to Earth would be found. This also implies that whatever computer network or systems ran individual drones would be crackable as well.

The real answer is that the UNSC should have had small drone ships. Just the hull, a MAC, Archer Pods, and a big engine. Wouldn't have needed to have a large MAC either, just something Onager sized. Not only would the things divert covenant fire, they'd be more expendable than a frigate with a couple hundred souls aboard.

2018年8月8日 · The drone could also use a smart AI to find some ingenious backdoor, but prior to Halo: First Strike the UNSC had no means to duplicate smart AI so they are in extremely short supply. Furthermore, thus far I've only described the software difficulties of sending a drone to hack the Insurrectionists.

These are used by the actual UNSC Air Force, and they're atmospheric fighters. There's S-14 Baselard fighters, which are two-man fighters that can be used in atmosphere or in space. There's F-29 Nandao fighters, these are also capable of being used in or out of atmosphere.
