University of Babylon is one of the major unversities in Iraq, located in Babil Govermorate in Central Iraq on the banks of the Euphrates River. the university consists of 21 colleges distributed three main campuses / List of colleges.

The University of Baghdad was founded in 1957 as the second largest university in the Middle East and the oldest university in Iraq, including the Faculty of Law (1908), the Faculty of Engineering (1921), the High Teachers’ House (later called the Faculty of Education) in (1923) and the Faculty of Medicine (1921).

The University of Baghdad (UOB) is a public research university in Baghdad, Iraq. It is the largest university in Iraq and the tenth largest university in the Arab world. The history of the University of Baghdad can be traced back to the 11th century, when the Abbasid Caliph Al-Mustansir founded the Mustansiriya madrasa in 1227.

The College of Medicine welcomed the students for the first time in 1993-1994. The College relies on the principles of using the most recent scientific methods in teaching and the developed scientific methods to graduate doctors with international standards to cope with the labour market and provide the best health services to society.

University of Baghdad is one of the top public universities in Baghdad, Iraq. It is ranked #801-850 in QS World University Rankings 2025.
