UPS Airlines Flight 1354 was a scheduled cargo flight from Louisville, Kentucky, to Birmingham, Alabama. On August 14, 2013, the Airbus A300 flying the route crashed and burst into flames short of the runway on approach to Birmingham–Shuttlesworth International Airport .

As we have seen, cargo operators have been quite busy in the past few months. And they have been doing reasonably well financially, as a result.

Airbus and UPS have completed the cockpit upgrade project for 52 A300-600 Freighters and 2 Simulators in the UPS Airlines fleet. The final aircraft retro-fitted with state-of-the-art cockpit avionics was delivered to UPS in March.
