THHN is not wet location rated, underground is wet location even in conduit, but most THHN cable is also rated THWN, which is wet location rated. THWN or XHHW would be fine in conduit for all the circuit conductors.

2005年4月18日 · URD is just a type of USE cable that has 3 or 4 conductors twisted together. You will have a very hard time getting this into 2 inch schedule 80 conduit. See chapter 9 Fine Print Note #2 concerning jamming criteria. #6 and larger USE alledgedly has the same insulation thickness as THW.

2006年9月7日 · im putting a 100 amp subpanel into a dettachted garage and i figured with copper prices i would use 1/0, 1/0, 2 urd/use aluminum cable to feed the panel instead of pipe and copper conductors. the problem is that im having a hard time finding it in a 4 conductor cable(2 hots, 1 neutral, 1 ground).

See IEEE 5796/1993 Table 6 compare with IEEE 242/2001 9.5.2 Overload capacity[for cable]. I thought if one intends to replace the actual transformer with another larger and keep the secondary cable.

2009年10月26日 · True URD cable isn't a recognized NEC insulated conductor and should be used only by POCOs. I believe there are products that carry the dual rating of URD/USE. These are acceptable NEC wiring methods but per 338.12 must terminate on the exterior of the building (usually at a meter socket or j box)

You would have to for shielded cable if it were used on a Wye system 4) 1/3 neutral is for three phase applications. (1/3*3=1) Full neutral is used for single phase or V phase applications. It can be used for three phase also, it just costs more. 5) UD=URD

2021年7月12日 · One electrician was adamant about skipping URD and using regular wire inside PVC conduit. He said that he repairs breaks nonstop and I will have issues in a few years. One 10' stick of 2.5" conduit is $45 bucks at Lowes right now. I can't afford to not use URD.
