Should I use SER or URD cable for a 100 amp sub-panel?
2020年7月10日 · If the cable is SER and not also USE or URD then it is not permitted underground. THHN is not wet location rated, underground is wet location even in conduit, but most THHN cable is also rated THWN, which is wet location rated. THWN or XHHW would be fine in conduit for all the circuit conductors.

2010年9月9日 · My question is ... will the NEC allow URD Cable to be direct burial and terminated directly into a Service Panel on the inside of a building or will you have to transition on the outside of the building and bring another type cable into the panel . Thanks for your ideas:

2006年9月7日 · im putting a 100 amp subpanel into a dettachted garage and i figured with copper prices i would use 1/0, 1/0, 2 urd/use aluminum cable to feed the panel instead of pipe and copper conductors. the problem is that im having a hard time finding it in a 4 conductor cable(2 hots, 1 neutral, 1 ground).

2019年9月25日 · It seems a cable could overcome 31.8% overload in cable duct for 4 hrs.-for instance- but transformer only 5%. See IEEE 5796/1993 Table 6 compare with IEEE 242/2001 9.5.2 Overload capacity[for cable]. I thought if one intends to replace the actual transformer with another larger and keep the secondary cable.

2009年10月26日 · True URD cable isn't a recognized NEC insulated conductor and should be used only by POCOs. I believe there are products that carry the dual rating of URD/USE. These are acceptable NEC wiring methods but per 338.12 must terminate on the exterior of the building (usually at a meter socket or j box)
One more time: USE-2 indoors? and, in conduit, or exposed?
2017年3月2日 · We get a lot of URD cable in sizes that are commonly used on farms and other outdoor applications. Do need to watch out so you don't apply one of those to an application that does enter a building. URD is stocked in dual rated conductors for more common sizes used to feed smaller services, like 2 AWG, 1/0, 2/0, 4/0 and 250 kcmil triplex (most ...

2013年3月14日 · 3) Correct, you do not need to run a seperate neutral conductor on concentric neutral cable. You would have to for shielded cable if it were used on a Wye system 4) 1/3 neutral is for three phase applications. (1/3*3=1) Full neutral is used for single phase or V phase applications. It can be used for three phase also, it just costs more. 5) UD=URD

2021年7月12日 · One electrician was adamant about skipping URD and using regular wire inside PVC conduit. He said that he repairs breaks nonstop and I will have issues in a few years. One 10' stick of 2.5" conduit is $45 bucks at Lowes right now. I can't afford to not use URD.
