U.S. Route 29 or U.S. Highway 29 (US 29) is a north–south United States Numbered Highway that runs for 1,043.3 miles (1,679.0 km) from Pensacola, Florida, to Ellicott City, Maryland, just west of Baltimore, Maryland, in the Eastern United States, connecting the Florida Panhandle to the Washington–Baltimore combined statistical area.

In the U.S. state of Maryland, US 29 is a major highway that emerges from Washington DC and runs north into eastern Montgomery County, stretching over 25.86 miles (41.62 km) through the state and terminating at Maryland Route 99 (MD 99) outside of Ellicott City.

US 29 now follows US 460 west to meet back up with US 29 near Lynchburg Airport. The freeway from US 460 to VA 210 opened in Dec 2004. The old route past Sweet Briar College and through Madison Heights became part of a very long US 29 Business.

5 天之前 · US 29 in Virginia is known as the Seminole Trail. Oddly, the 1952 Shell Map shows US 29-74 east of Kings Mtn as the Seminole Trail, but this name appears nowhere else on the map.... US 29 is now the step-child for I-85 for most of its existence, but is still nearly all 4-lane. US 29 north of Greensboro is slated to be part of the coming I-785.
