U.S. Route 69 (US 69) is a major north–south United States highway in the central United States. When it was first created, it was only 150 miles (241 km) long, but it has since been expanded into a Minnesota to Texas cross-country route.

In Oklahoma, U.S. 69 is 4-lane divided expressway for almost its entire length. It starts out duplexed with U.S. 75 just north of the Sherman and Denison, Texas area. U.S. 75 departs in Atoka, and U.S. 69 continues straight ahead towards McAlester. From McAlester to Muskogee, U.S. 69 is a freeway.

In Texas, the I-69 system will extend along the following highways: U.S. Highway (US) 59 from I-30 in Texarkana to Laredo; US 84 from the Louisiana border to US 59 in Timpson; US 77 from US 59 in Victoria to Brownsville; US 281 from US 59 in George West to I-2 in Pharr

The U.S. 69 Expansion Project (69Express) was launched in 2020 after years of effort to examine how best to improve the state’s busiest four-lane highway. The goal was to address growing safety, travel time reliability and congestion issues in the corridor, which stretches from 103rd Street to 179th Street, all in Overland Park.

Its existence remains in two parts; a proposed extension of the southwest to the Mexican border in Texas, and the other one is the completed highway from Indianapolis, which is in the northeast to the Canadian border in Port Huron.
