They primarily do counter drug/ smuggling/ and piracy operations. You can expect to be gone quite a lot either training or deployed in areas like the Caribbean and the Persian gulf area.

2022年12月3日 · MSRT is generally second tour folks with shown skill and expressed desire to be assigned there. TACLET/MSST are more normal assignments from what I've seen. In either case, the IT jobs are not at those units. So you have a fork in the road right out of the gate.

2022年1月26日 · At TACLET you won't deploy. At MSST you might deploy to high-profile events. At MSRT you will deploy to high profile events. At LCDR level you can be XO of TACLET, and maybe CO of a few MSSTs (I can't remember) At the CDR level you can be CO of TACLET, MSSTs; OPS/XO at MSRT. At the CAPT level you are CO of MSRT.

2023年5月20日 · MSRT and TACLET represent a small percent of possible billets across all the different rates that could get assigned to one of those units. If that's what you want to do, you can always try, but you should manage your expectations too because depending on your rate what billet you actually get could be very different.

We also have units/positions in Europe, Asia, Middle East, Africa, etc. An enlisted tour at a DSF unit is currently 6 years. That being said, you could be at TACLET for 6 years, then go to MSRT for 6 more.... then theoretically back to TACLET, or maybe to the OTHER MSRT. Who ...

2016年1月22日 · in addition to MSST, MSRT, and TACLET, reserve units like the Port Security Unit (PSUs) and National Strike Force are also part of the Deployable Specialized Forces. PSUs are much like MSSTs, providing a mobile maritime security augmentation ability and yes you will deploy overseas (my buddy at my old unit went to kuwait and GITMO)

2022年12月5日 · Taclet has a more direct tie in with federal LE jobs like border patrol, CBP. But the veterans preference would be the biggest benefit there in terms of chances of being accepted to an academy. I'm not sure if you're aware, but taclet and MSRT are only a minority (although a significant minority) of the ME rate.
