2025年3月7日 · The USGS National and Regional Climate Adaptation Science Centers (CASCs) is a partnership-driven program that teams scientists with natural resource managers and communities to help fish, wildlife, water, land, and people adapt to a changing climate.

The CASCs are divided into nine regions across the United States: Alaska, Midwest, Northwest, North Central, Northeast, Pacific Islands, Southwest, South Central, and Southeast.

National CASC research examines climate change impacts and potential adaptation solutions for recreational and Tribal fisheries, migratory bird management, invasive species control, and much more.

The Climate Adaptation Science Centers (CASCs) deliver science to help fish, wildlife, water, land, and people adapt to a changing climate. The CASCs fund projects generating research, data sets, and tools to help natural and cultural resource managers protect natural places & local communities in a changing climate.

The Southwest Climate Adaptation Science Center (SW CASC) is a collaborative federal-university partnership between the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) and seven academic institutions from across the U.S. Southwest.

The Midwest Climate Adaptation Science Center (MW CASC) was launched in September 2021. Based at host institution University of Minnesota, we are a consortium of research-focused academic, Tribal, and non-profit partners working collaboratively with the United States Geological Survey (USGS). 2024年9月20日 · Positioned at the meeting point of scientists and managers and guided by core values, the NC CASC studies diverse ecosystems affected by climate change and empowers resource managers with actionable data and innovative science. This report outlines the 5-year Science Plan (hereafter “the Plan”) for the NC CASC.

The CASC network has made it a priority to engage with Native communities to (1) better understand their knowledge about climate change impacts; (2) enhance their capacities in adaptation planning; and (3) realize their climate science needs (U.S. Geological Survey, 2020).

The Climate Adaptation Science Centers (CASCs) partner with natural and cultural resource managers to provide the scientific information needed to help fish, wildlife, ecosystems, and the communities they support adapt to the impacts of a changing climate.
