USS Stout (DDG-55) is an Arleigh Burke-class Aegis guided missile destroyer. Built for the United States Navy by Ingalls Shipbuilding, she was commissioned on 13 August 1994 and she is currently home-ported in Naval Station Norfolk. She is part of Destroyer Squadron 28. [4]

2021年3月23日 · After instruction at the Mine Warfare School, Yorktown, Virginia, Lieutenant Commander Stout assumed command of USS BREESE (DM 18). He was in command of that destroyer minelayer, docked at Pearl Harbor, when the Japanese attacked on 7 December 1941. Guns from USS BREESE shot down one enemy bomber during the attack.

USS Cushing (Destroyer No. 55/DD-55) was an O'Brien-class destroyer built for the United States Navy prior to the American entry into World War I. The ship was the second U.S. Navy vessel named in honor of William B. Cushing, a U.S. Navy officer best known for sinking the Confederate ironclad warship CSS Albemarle during the American Civil War.

2010年4月9日 · two Navy Crosses for heroism while in command of the destroyer USS Claxton (DD 571) during World War II. Then a Commander, Stout aided his task force in sinking five heavily armed, enemy warships to establish a beachhead on Bougainville Island. The keel was laid on September 13, 1991, by Ingalls Shipbuilding at Pascagoula, Mississippi.
