Half of the current structure, the side facing the UST Main Building is the ruins of the 17th-century arch door of the first UST campus in Intramuros, while the side that faces España Boulevard is a replica inaugurated in 1954. 2020年12月10日 · The Arch of the Centuries was originally erected in 1611 at Intramuros, where UST was originally established. When the university transferred to its present location at Sampaloc, the Arch was also carried piece-by-piece and was re-erected at the present Plaza Intramuros in 1954.

The Arch of the Centuries (Filipino: Arko ng mga Siglo, Spanish: Arco de los Siglos) is a triumphal arch at the Plaza Intramuros of the University of Santo Tomas (UST) in Manila, in the Philippines that stands meters away from the university's Millennium Gate along España Boulevard.

What catches the eye is the landmark, the Arch of the Centuries. When the UST moved to España, the arch was dismantled and carried piece by piece from Intramuros. It was put together in what used to be the main entrance of the University (when I was little, the road going through the arch was the main entrance to the University).
