
Urinary Tract Infection (UTI) Service - Community Pharmacy Wales
2024年6月14日 · The UTI service has been introduced as a NON MANDATORY element of the Common Ailments Service from June 2024. Contractors should consider their capacity to deliver as an additional service prior to signing up. Please contact a member of the engagement team for further information regarding the service.
Patients who have a UTI and have visible haematuria or a positive urinalysis result for haematuria should be treated for the UTI if appropriate. These patients should be advised to have a follow-up urinalysis test in 6 weeks time even if they no longer have symptoms.
Visible haematuria –consider treatment for UTI and inform individual if after completing their course of antibiotics: visible haematuria still persists, even if they feel better, to see their GP or seek medical attention as soon as possible.
