Divine Keys are pieces of Previous Era technology, usually weapons, made using a Herrscher 's Core. They hold the powers of their respective Herrscher and are made with a kind of nanotechnology called "Soulium". [1] The Divine Keys were mainly created by Vill-V — who was leading their development until the 6th Divine Key.

Divine Keys can be unlocked by collecting any weapon that corresponds to the key. Collecting more forms of a Divine Key will allow you to "sync" and empower them. A Divine Key can be leveled up via items, which will unlock either a permanent passive or a special skill that only takes effect by removing the "Gene Limit".
