Our mission is to organize, represent and promote the interests of the City of Tempe non-supervisory employees. UAEA continually strives to improve its members' pay, benefits, and working conditions while defending city employees' rights to fair treatment, dignity, and respect.

The United Arizona Employee Association was established by workers and is led by the membership. Our primary purpose is to organize, represent and promote the interest of non-supervisory public employees for the City of Tempe, Arizona. UAEA exists because members believe employees should have a voice in the workplace.

UAEA Member Meeting at Tempe Transportation Center. There is one hour free parking in the City Hall Garage at 117 E 5th St and free parking for city vehicles on 6th St east of City Hall. Tempe Transportation Center - 200 E 5th St

UAEA Board members are elected for two-year terms. Unless there are special vacancies, the President, Communications Director, Secretary, and 2 Citywide Representative roles are elected in even-numbered years (2024, 2026, 2028).

This organization has been established as the officially designated representative of City of Tempe non-supervisory employees in accordance with Tempe City Code Section 2-401. Hereafter in these bylaws the United Arizona Employee Association shall be named interchangeably as the UAEA or as ‘the Association.’
