2021年7月20日 · Graphical apps functionality was available since the start with X11 servers (e.g., vcXsrv). The issues that they had with surviving suspend are now well-patched by wsld. WSLg, on the other side, is new, based on newer technologies, and the interface is not fully what you'd expect at this point (e.g., resizing is weird, Win+arrows don't work, &c).

Rambox is a nice electron based app that wraps the web-apps of most nearly all chat services into one, and allows native notifications and a tray icon. Wine for running some Windows only applications (I personally like to use the playonlinux frontend for wine. It's easier) VLC media player. It'll play anything.

Backstory: I've run Arch in the past but never really did anything with the AUR. Right now I'm on Ubuntu since a lot of software I'm using is either only officially supported for Ubuntu even though it's easily installable on most distros, (Steam), or is only easily available as a .deb (Spotify, Discord, I'm looking at giving Bitwig Studio a try for audio).

If there was a segmentation fault, Ubuntu's apport daemon would've written a crash file in there, named after the crashing program and user (so _usr_bin_gnome-shell.1000.crash or such). It has a bunch of text mentioning various bits of information, including one huuuuge multi-megabyte text field that has the base64-encoded core dump.
