Semi-quantitative RT-PCR analysis of UGT1A8 and –1A10 mRNA expression was carried out with untreated primary human hepatocytes and those exposed to Rif and 3-MC. We found that in these hepatocytes, mRNA for UGT1A8 and –1A10, was expressed at low levels and significantly induced by the addition of 3-MC or Rif to the medium.
