Uig is a charming port with ferry links to Uist and Harris. There is accommodation and a number of places to eat out in Uig. The Trotternish ridge provides an obvious focus for walkers but there are other shorter walks suitable for all abilities; the Fairy Glen is a beautiful whimsical walk through a valley produced by many small landslides.

Uig is een heel klein dorpje in het noorden van het eiland Skye. Het heeft maar 200 inwoners en is gesitueerd op het schiereiland Trotternish. Het dorpje is klein maar het heeft wel de nodige faciliteiten. Zo is er een pub, restaurants en een winkel bij het postkantoor. U ziet er ook de dubbele waterval genaamd de Falls of Rha.
