2011年5月18日 · The 4516 is about 3 ounces lighter than the 4566 which makes it a little more desireable for carry. The 457 is about 6 ounces lighter than the 4516. I think it is hard to beat the 457 series for price and utility.

My main concern is does the reliability of this gun stand up to the standards set forth by more modern firearms like the USP and XDm ?

It too was designed at the tail end of the AWB and faced an uphill battle and clawed a small but loyal market share in law enforcement circles due to older established relationships between S&W and Police Departments.

2019年3月12日 · I have a 4566 TSW, but not one marked to W VA. This is the one I replaced the recoil spring guide on in order to smooth out the action. The original guide was plastic, and the replacement was metal.

2009年8月1日 · The 4566 is my favorite S&W 45 semi auto. I just found a Melonite 4566. Been searching for one for years. Accurate, reliable and looks good doing all that. It does not get any better in a 45 than the 4566. Regards 18DAI.

4566 was completed at Swindon in October 1924. 4566 started its working life at Newton Abbott but by 1938 was to be found at Bristol Bath Road. By 1947 it was based in Penzance. BR motive power depot allocations since 1948. It was withdrawn from service at Plymouth Laira in April 1962 and sent to Woodham Brothers scrapyard.
