2018年1月13日 · UP 6918 and 6924 were equipped with air sirens mounted on their cab roof, from March 1979 until their retirement in May 1985, including the period they were stored out of service between May 1980 through May 1985. The sirens had previously been installed on SDP35s 1400 and 1402, from May 1978 through March 1979.

2025年1月5日 · Photos of both UP 6918 and 6924 show that both units retained their sirens while in storage at various locations beginning in May 1980, including their time at Yermo, California, beginning in January 1982. UP 6918 had its siren removed by July 1984; UP 6924 still had its siren as late as April 1984. Both units were retired in May 1985.
