UPOU is envisioned as a leader in teaching and learning in the digital age, helping to equip Filipinos with the knowledge and skills they need for life and work in the 21st century.

The year 2023 marked UPOU’s 10th year of pioneering the country’s Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs). There are no limits as UPOU offers MOOCs for free and open to all. MOOCs are short online courses for gaining extra learning credits and certifications in different categories.

The 2024 UPOU MODeL MOOC Calendar showcases 24 diverse courses designed to build credentials and enhance expertise across various fields including business analytics, gender sensitivity, multimedia production, open and distance eLearning, learning through technologies, and social entrepreneurship.

These courses have allowed UPOU to cater to career shifters, out-of-school youth, alternative learning system students, and overseas Filipino workers (OFWs). UPOU’s MOOCs can be accessed through the MODeL site (https://model.upou.edu.ph).
