When sampling a crusted over lesion, moisten the swab in sterile saline prior to taking the sample. Remove the swab and place into the vial. Snap off the shaft to fit completely in the vial.

Establish the diagnosis of Ureaplasma urealyticum infection in suspected cases of urethritis and cervicitis. Submit one specimen per test requested. Specify the exact specimen source/origin (e.g., genital lesion). Indicate a specific test number on the request form.

A result of positive for HPV-16 only is needed for reflex testing. Reflex testing is not available for UroSwab® specimens.
