The urRu, more commonly known as Mystics, were a race of natural wizards that lived during the Age of Division. Like the Skeksis, they were offshoots of the urSkeks, personifying their wisdom and spirituality, but lacking their passion and innovation.

Though they are often called Mystics, these gentle creatures that represent the ‘light’ half of the Skeksis are called urRu. When the names of the urRu and the Skeksis are combined, they form the names of the urSkeks: the original race which arrived on Thra and was later split in two by the light of the Triple Sun and the Crystal.

The UrRu, also known as the Mystics, are an ancient race of kind four-armed wizards and the overarching protagonists of The Dark Crystal franchise. They are the benevolent counterparts of the malevolent Skeksis, one of the two races born from the divided UrSkeks.
