Your VolCard is your university ID to be used for identification purposes and access to goods and services to which you are entitled via your mobile credential. No other person is permitted to use this ID for any reason.

All students, faculty, and staff at the University of Tennessee have a NetID and password. Your NetID permits secure access to a variety of applications and services. Applications that request NetID authentication vary by campus. For information about which applications require NetID authentication, contact your local HelpDesk.

All students, faculty, staff, and authorized guests at the University of Tennessee are provided with a NetID (username) and password when they join the university.

Your NetID is the username associated with your accounts for the University of Tennessee, and it is the first part of your University email address, [email protected]. Your NetID grants secure access to a variety of applications and services, including MyUTK and Online@UT.

If you do not know your NetID, you can find it by searching for yourself using the UT Online Directory at https://directory.utk.edu. Your NetID will be listed in the upper right-hand corner of your directory entry, along with your preferred UT email address.

Go to the NetID Online Password Reset site. Enter your NetID and click Continue. Select an ID for your UT ID Number, enter your birthdate, then click Continue. If prompted by Duo Two-Factor, send a push or enter a Passcode from your Duo app or token. Review the Tips for Protecting Your UT Accounts, then select Continue.

Get information on adding your VolCard to your Android device. Get information on adding your VolCard to your Apple device. To use the VolCard on your mobile device, hold the back of the phone, near the camera lens, to the reader. You do not have to bring anything up on your device.

Still cannot log in, call our office at (865) 974-3430 or email [email protected]. Select “Submit ID Photo” on the left-hand panel. Follow the instructions to upload your photo.

All Online@UT (Canvas) users have a unique Tennessee ID (TN ID) number. This 9-digit number can be found in your MyUTK right beneath your Name and Student ID number.
