V6 vs V8? : r/Trucks - Reddit
2015年9月25日 · the size of the truck is just as important as the size of the motor in regards to gas milage. If you are looking at a mini truck (colorado/s10/tacoma) then a v6 is plenty. If you are getting a larger truck like a silverado, f-150, or a 1500 ram then a v8 would be more to your liking since a v6 can get it going.

2021年8月4日 · The previous truck was a 2018 that made it to 350,000km before being totalled by a moose. The front dif constantly had issues but the engine itself had lots of life left imo. As with anything, your experience may differ but the 3.5 is a solid, solid choice.

2024年6月3日 · Looking for some input for the best V6 truck to get, likely lightly used in the last couple years, aka their latest generations as I'd fixing to own whichever I choose for a number of years. I'm somewhat against getting a V6 F-150, or V6 ram 1500.

2017年1月25日 · The Hemi in a Ram has better towing capacity but less payload capacity than a pentastar v6. If you never need to tow, it makes more sense to go with the v6. Is there really THAT big of a difference between a V6 and a V8
2017年8月9日 · One has more cylinders. That doesn't always mean it's faster though. Every engine is different. For example, a newer V6 Mustang is faster than an older V8 Mustang. A 350Z which has a V6 is faster than some V8's too. Some 4-cylinder cars are even faster than V8's and V6's. A truck with a V8 might be slower than a car with a 4-cylinder engine.

I know the market is pretty pricy right now but I’m looking for a small 4x4 v6 truck for around the yard and woods. Waiting to come across a decent deal. Wanting to stay as cheap as possible but without buying a pos. I want something that won’t break down everytime I turn around. I know Toyotas are good but overpriced imo.

If I were to get a diesel it would be a 20 or 21 truck, and for the V6 19 through 21. At this point I know that if I get the V6 Towing is out of the question for a GVWR of more than 4,500 lb.
Am I crazy or is a RAM 1500 V6 a great value? : r ... - Reddit
2022年8月8日 · The V6 pentastar engine is fairly reliable, but horribly underpowered for a full size truck. You also will not get close to 24 MPG. It's priced cheaper than comparable trucks because of their questionable reliability track record, and the fact that literally no one wants a …
Need options. What is best for towing: V6, Turbo V6, or V8
In comparison my old truck, a 2005 GMC Sierra 1500 with the 5.3 V8 got about 18mpg highway, 15mpg around town, and 8-10mpg towing. So considering that the F250 is a considerably heavier truck, the mpg's are not that far off from a 1/2-ton gas V8. And when towing or hauling heavy loads, the F250 is better.
