2024年10月28日 · The VBCI 2 is an improved version of the standard VBCI designed and manufactured by the French Defense Company Nexter Systems mainly for the export market. The VBCI 2 was introduced at DSEI 2015, the International Defense Exhibition in London, UK.

The VBCI-2 (MCT30) is a cutting-edge infantry fighting vehicle that represents a significant evolution in armoured warfare. Developed by the French company Nexter, the VBCI-2 was created as an export version of its predecessor, the original VBCI, which was unveiled in 2008.

VBCI MK2 constitutes the latest evolution of the combat-proven French Infantry Fighting Vehicle. The only native IFV, VBCI has proven itself in numerous combat operations and become the main combat system of the French Army.

The VBCI-2 is equipped with a new Volvo D13 diesel engine with a power of 600 h.p. (for comparison, VBCI uses the Volvo D12 550 h.p. engine), reinforced suspension, wheels with larger tires - all this is designed to compensate for the increase in weight from 29 to 32 tons.

The VBCI 2 integrates the lessons learned during combat in Mali, and has a new 600 hp Volvo drivetrain, a new air conditioning system and new 360° digital cameras which can be controlled and viewed from the 3 onboard consoles mounted for the vehicle commander, gunner, and driver.

2020年5月2日 · The VBCI fielded in 2009 with the French Army has a manned turret with a 25mm GIAT M811 autocannon; in 2015, NEXTER introduced the export-variant VBCI 2, armed optionally with either a manned turret with a 40mm CTAS autocannon and two turret-mounted MMP ATGMs or an unmanned turret with a 30mm gun.
