The dinsync VCO requires you to provide a voltage source with a pretty precise value, so you'll have to setup a voltage divider on a breadboard (with a trimmer), the Befaco diy VCO just requires a Frequency counter and a good multimeter. Haible Living VCO and MirrorCore VCO are the most complicated builds.
