K160 was withdrawn from service in late 2012 and was stored at Maldon until the 20th January 2014 when it was transferred by road from Maldon to Newport. The locomotive is currently undergoing a heavy overhaul using the workshop facilities of Steamrail Victoria with a plan to return to mainline operating condition on completion.

2025年2月12日 · K160 has now been reunited with its driving and pony wheels. The loco is now to be lifted from its current road at Newport, where it has sat for over 10 years, to the road next door which has access outside and will enable us to take it out for wheel profiling and testing purposes when we get to that stage.

2024年6月3日 · There has been some really significant progress during May. Work has started on the axle boxes as previously foreshadowed. The brand new cladding for the boiler and cylinders has arrived at Newport. Our volunteers are busy removing parts from the old cladding and getting the new cladding ready to be fitted.
