2015年8月14日 · I would like to inform that, i f we need to play VOB with Windows Media Player, we should download a codec like k-lite codec from the free-codec website to upgrade our media player, which will allow Windows Media Player 9, 11 to playback many new types of file formats, including VOB. While the file is playing, right-click the file in the library, and then click Properties. On the File tab, look at the Audio codec and Video codec sections. To ensure that Windows Media Player can download codecs from the Microsoft server if necessary, make sure the Download codecs automatically option is enabled (it's turned on by default).

2010年12月13日 · Since this version of MM supposedly accepts .vob files, I want to avoid that and I don't think I should have to do that unlike Vista users, for example. Besides, every time I change video file formats with a ripper, I risk "losing something" in the tranfer. Other MVP's have said to rename the .vob file to something else (.mpg or .avi).

I have been trying to copy a few .VOB files from a non-copyrighted dvd to my harddrive and keep running in to the same problem. After the transfer is complete, it looks like the full file is there but it shows that the clip length is only :13 seconds rather than the 35mins of the original file.
