Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC) Management Plan on Ships
2024年2月8日 · The aim of the VOC Management Plan is to identify the arrangements and equipment required to enable compliance with Regulation 15.6 of the revised Annex Ⅵ of MARPOL 73/78, and to clearly identify for the ship’s officers all operational procedures for VOC emission control.
Regulation 15 of Annex VI of MARPOL 73/78, as revised by IMO Resolution MEPC.176(58) (hereinafter referred to as “revised Annex VI”), regulates the Volatile Organic Compound (hereinafter referred to as “VOC”) emissions from a tanker in designated port(s) or terminal(s) of a Party regulating such emissions.
A VOC MANAGEMENT PLAN 1 Objectives .1 The purpose of the VOC management plan is to ensure that the operation of a tanker, to which regulation 15 of MARPOL Annex VI applies, prevents or minimizes VOC emissions to the extent possible. .2 Emissions of VOCs can be prevented or minimized by:
Volatile organic compounds (VOC) – Regulation 15 - IMO
In the first, regulations 15.1 – 15.5 and 15.7, control on VOC emitted to the atmosphere in respect of certain ports or terminals is achieved by a requirement to utilize a vapour emission control system (VECS).
To comply with this plan, the loading and carriage of cargoes which generate VOC emissions should be evaluated and procedures written to ensure that the operations of a ship follow best management practices for preventing or minimizing VOC emissions to the extent possible.
What is Volatile Organic Compound (VOC)? - Marine Insight
2021年9月6日 · Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) are organic compounds that have high vapour pressure and low solubility in water. Volatile Organic Compounds are emitted as gases from many solids/liquids organic chemicals such as household chemicals like paints, varnishes, pesticides, lacquers, building and furnishing materials, and wax.
The plan shall be specific to each ship and shall at least: .1 provide written procedures for minimizing VOC emissions during the loading, sea passage and discharge of cargo; .2 give consideration to the additional VOC generated by crude oil washing; .3 identify a person responsible for implementing the plan; and .4 for ships on international vo...
