The Navy Cross is presented to Leland L. Davis, Machinist, U.S. Navy, for extraordinary heroism and distinguished service beyond the call of duty as a Pilot of Seaplane Patrol Squadron FORTY-THREE (VP-43), Patrol Wing FOUR, in action against enemy Japanese forces in the Aleutian Islands, Territory of Alaska, on 11 June 1942.
