2001年1月1日 · The squadrons involved are designated VPU-1 (the Old Buzzards) based in Brunswick, Maine, and VPU-2 (the Wizards) based at Barbers Point Hawaii. Both squadrons operate a stripped UP-3A aircraft for logistical and training use.

VPU-1: about this squadron not much is known. It exists and there are enough reasons to believe that it has its homebase at NAS Brunswick, Maine. Their fleet consists of 2 or 3 Orions and in 1984 VPU-1 received a "Meritorious Unit Commendation".

1996年6月20日 · Spent a lot of time in the center seat with VP-46 (74-77), VP-31 (77-80), VPU-1 (80-83), VP-30 (83-86) and VP-56 (86-90). After making AVCM had to leave flying and went to AIMD NAS Keflavik, Iceland, IC followed by NS Rota, Spain (90-96) and finally finishing up as the Avionics Department LCPO at NATTC. Enjoyed reading about old squad mates.
